Secretary 1s Report:
Correction to the Dec. 1, 2017 minutes included: the 2018 budget was approved as amended. The minutes were approved as corrected.
Treasurer’s Report:
Ed reported total current assets as $10,609.88.
Association Business:
Annual Dinner Updates-Date 2/5/18
Todd reported that invitations will be mailed early next week with three options to RSVP. Jacque Henry is coordinating with Sunshine Caterer for a braised roast beef dinner with vegetables. Vegetarian option will need prior notification. Jud invited our local politicians and suggested members could also invite guests.
Silent Auction – Rosina is happy with the response so far, including a “kid” for an auction item.
Dessert Auction – Barb reported a few more dessert items are needed.
2018 Brochures and Other KPBA Materials – Charles is busy working on the brochures, invitations and the website. Danna is helping with photos, and Ed will get the most updated list of members to Todd for the brochure.
Website Update – Charles continues to work on this.
Budget Update – Jud stated that the KPBA will not be entertaining any unexpected requests for donations or sponsorships until it is known how the budget is doing. Danna inquired about the $100 amount set aside for Political Forum vs. a $250 amount. Jud suggested a review and rework of the budget at a later date, before the October forum.
Individual Reports:
Barb – Mrs Claus reported the Fire Dept. Santa Sleigh Run was a huge success with great weather, more families and kids attending the Tree lighting and visiting with Santa in their neighborhoods.
Rosina, KC library – Greenhouse program on Jan. 13th and David Gordon on Jan 20th talking about the Sasquatch. Rosina will be retiring on Feb. 28th.
Cheryl, Costco – The spotlight is on travel with cash back opportunities.
Danna, KP Community Council – One year anniversary at KC location is Feb. 1st. Many good resources here, all areas are busy, and Derek Young will be there on a regular schedule.
Scott, KP Parks – FT Maintenance and Seasonal position are available.
Carolyn Wiley, UC – The event calendar is now available. Thanked the KPBA for sponsorship of the Scarecrow Contest during the Farm Tour.
Frank, KC Fire Dept – Reminded everyone to close doors if there is a fire, as there is a 10x difference in temperature and carbon dioxide if left open. Reported the KP Lions is pleased with the new KP News editor, Lisa Bryan.
Jud, CHS – Reported the Angel Guild, Pen Light and federal government helped with utilities and rent totaling $5,000. Derek Young is organizing an Opioid Epidemic Summit for Feb. 2.
