Minutes for Friday,
September 21, 2007

Civic Center. Meeting called to order by
Vice President Claudia Loy.
Present: Barb Heard, Ruth Bramhall,
Todd Rosenbach, Marty Marcus, Tara Froode, Bek Ashby, Marv Keizur, Joe Rhea,
Bette Jopp, Dana Webster, Genevieve Ellis, Lori Jones, Edie Morgan, Al Yanity
and Ross Bischoff.
Guest Speakers: John Donahue and Meg
O’Leary from the WSDOT spoke about the current SR302 study and took note of
what concerns the group had regarding the SR302 corridor. Everyone is encouraged to attend the Open
House SR 302 on Tuesday, Sept. 25th to give your input and learn
more.
Secretary’s Report/Corres: A correction to the minutes from Sept. 7th. Dana Webster said the KP News was studying the
feasibility of expanding their publication to twice a month. It was MSC to approve the corrected minutes.
Treasurer’s Report: No report. Balance is the same as the previous month.
KPBA Business:
Mustard Seed Project – It was MSC to grant Edie Morgan’s funding request of $500 to the Mustard Seed Project for their survey costs.
Brochure Update – There is a need to respond to Bret’s spreadsheet regarding ad descriptions by October 1st. Make payment to the KPBA, PO Box 439, Vaughn, WA 98394.
Luncheon Meeting Location – Ruth said the Aloha B&B expressed availability of their premises for meetings. Claudia suggested their location would be great for After Hours. It was decided to continue the meetings at the KPCC for another month while looking for other options. Jud will contact the food provider for the next meeting.
KP Fair Sponsorship – Claudia reported the KP Fair finished in the “black”, although there would be no monies distributed to the 3 individual organizations. She expressed the need for the backing of the organizations and volunteers from those groups. A further discussion will be held during the next breakfast meeting.
Community Council Voting – Ruth reminded everyone to vote by next Saturday, Sept. 29th.
Livable Key 2020 – Tara reported that their group’s goal is go through the community plan and identify certain projects and make them a reality. Areas of interest include: cleaning up the sign litter, a welcome sign in Purdy, individual area welcome signs and offsite signage (tourist activities such as wineries and farms). Contact Tara to become involved.
Individual Reports:
Edie encouraged everyone to come see the Key Senior
Information Center. Marty is
getting a speaker from the US Geological Survey. Lori said the Beach Hut is on winter
hours, Thursday-Sunday, and the salmon sandwich is great! Barb said Sound Credit Union offers
Visa Merchant Services. Ross got
new gravel by his building. Claudia said
there’s still time to donate something to the Flavor of Fall (Sept. 25th). Bette reported that BoMac is busy. Todd
said to contact him soon for a table at the Peninsula Schools Education
Foundation fundraiser being held on Oct. 17th. Dana is assisting with the Harvest Fest
on Oct. 6th, 10am-4pm and mentioned the 3421 Creviston Rd
address. Bek said North Bay
Mortgage is getting a lot of publicity, although interest rates have not
fluctuated much yet. Marv
reported he’s still doing extensions and the Lions Club is now meeting at
Horseshoe Lk. Genevieve is also
doing extensions until Oct. 15 at Ellis Accounting.
