Minutes: May 5th

Reports:
1.
Marketing commitee: Russ is moving forward with website.
livable community fair is may 13th 10am-3pm at
civic center, association has booth and
busineeses may display brochures.
Summer After Hours event- Blondie's new
underground bar/patio possibly.
Fall event: Trillium Creek Winery possibly.
2.
Key Peninsula Fair: Sponsorships are coming in. Working on security
replacement. Agrivision department is growing and have meetings third Wednesday
of each month. Band trailer is being repaired and Dr. Rose's band will be
playing in it. Vendor booths- 90 is the goal, 30 are currently signed up. Need
more large sponsorships, deadline is end of June. raffle items for the fair; we
have a prize weekend at the ocean and a fishing basket prize, need more donated
prizes.
3.
Key Peninsula Community Council: The board has three vacant spots to fill in
districts 1, 2, and 4. Will have a booth and flyers at the Livable Community
fair. Their meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month at KPMS
from 7-8:30pm. They will have seven postions opening in September, positions
are two year terms.
4. Key Peninsula Planning Board: Will have a
booth at the Livable Community Fair with literature on all plans that have been
drafted to date. Parks/Recreations section is beginning.
Transporations
section is nearly finished, projects have been prioritized by individuals and
consensus will be negotiated at next meeting, May 17th 6-9 pm KPMS.
Donation
Policy Review:
The board voted to keep our donation guidelines as established.
Citizens
against Crime has request for donation, it meets the standards of our
application if donation is requested for specific project. The board voted to
donate $300 to C.A.C. to provide security/patrol at the KPFair in 2006.
Individual
reports: Claudia says May is great, business is blooming. Ed has noticed a lot
of police activity on the Peninsula. Jeff says there were two big raids. Ross
has rhubarb growing, is working on the 360 acre park which is still pending.
Ruth Bramhall is helping to find a location for the community garden, Volunteer
Park is likely. Joyce says business is good. Ravensara has been dealing with
equipment repairs and hopes that all is finally well again. Marty mentioned
presentations in July from an author of a book on frogs, very interesting . Bek
says that North Bay Mortgage is having an open house May 19th 4-7pm at Belfair
office.
Other: Tara will be starting a committee to make
recommendations to the planning board in regard to the sign code for the key
