Minutes for Friday, March

Restaurant. Meeting called to order by
Vice President Jeff Harris.
Present: Barb Heard, Ruth Bramhall,
Todd Rosenbach, Marv & Myrtle Keizur, Ann Waldo, Marty Marcus, Lois
McMahan, Joyce Tovey, Ed Taylor, Joe Rhea, Patty Cole and Frank Shirley from
Toastmasters, Kip Bond, Al Yanity, Phil Bauer, Ross Bischoff, Mark Plummer,
Shane Plummer, Sheri Simpson, Sheryl Mirenta, Jerry Davis and Jud Morris.
Guest Speakers: Denise and Mike Hays gave
an interesting report on their plans to remodel and reopen the Longbranch
Mercantile hopefully by July 2007.
Secretary’s Report/Corres: No report. Treasurer’s
Report: No report.
Old Business/Committees:
Other: Frank Shirley and Patty Cole made a
presentation on the Toastmasters organization, where people practice the art of
speaking, learning, and listening. They
meet the first and third Mondays at G.H. United Methodist Church. Mark and Shane Plummer from Earth Crafters, Inc.
made a presentation about an on-site sanitation project in Africa that they
will be helping to build, and are trying to raise funds for the components. Any
donations would be greatly appreciated.
It was also mentioned that writing materials are badly needed.
New Business: - None
Individual Reports:
Ann Waldo from Bayshore Garden Club said two members
turned 90 years old. Marty will have a
booth at the KP Community Livable Fair. Kip from the Peninsula Market will be
having a buffalo meat sale at the end of the month. Ed’s Westwynd Motel has 1&2 bedroom
suites. Jerry Davis has U-Hauls (coming) & animal pens available. Joe said
that Lake Kathryn Village is following the rules on handicap parking decals and
signs. He is still working with the
engineer on the traffic light. Mark said
Earth Crafters has large equipment available for emergencies. Sheri said
business has been booming this last year.
Marv is busy with the tax season and said the Citizen of the Year Dinner
was a success. Tim Kezele was the
winner. Barb from Sound Credit Union
said they now have e-statements available.
Lois is having a birthday party fundraiser on April 27th at
7:00pm at Miracle Ranch. Al Yanity from the Citizens Against Crime Citizens
Patrol has applications for interested parties. Ross Bischoff has park
appreciation day posters. Phil Bauer
from the KP Civic Center reminded everyone of the upcoming Crab Feed on April 1st
(no sales at the door). Mike Hays,
representing the KP Fair said, “Sponsorship for the fair only happens through
the fair”. Todd from LPL Financial
Services reminded everyone of the tax advantages from IRAs and other
investments available. Joyce from
Windermere Realty said real estate is still a good investment. Ruth reminded everyone of the upcoming Sportsmen’s
Breakfast on April 30th. She
is looking for raffle items for the KP Fair also. Lynn from Blondie’s is
forming Wine Tasting and Tequila Tasting clubs.
