Minutes for Friday, July 15, 2005

Place: Blondie’s Restaurant

Present: Bek Ashby presiding, Ruth Bramhall, Dennis Taylor,  Jeff Harris, Marv & Myrtle Keizur, Ann Waldo, Marty Marcus,  Lois McMahan, Derek Kilmer,  Marlies Van Cise,  Patricia Lantz

Guest Speakers: Derek Kilmer and Patricia Lantz gave a presentation on the 2005 legislative session.  An informal question and answer period followed.

Secretary’s Report/Corres: It was MSC to approve the minutes from June18thrd.

Treasurer’s Report:  The treasurer’s report was given. 

Old Business/Committees:

  1. Marketing Committee: The brochure is in production.  There was a nice response to the enhanced ads.  There will be an After Hours Social on July 22, 6:00-8:00 PM at Sunnycrest Nursery.  Notify Lois the year of KPBA membership for the certificate project she is working on.
  2. KP Community Council – Jeff reported there are seven positions available for the upcoming Sept. 17 elections.  Applications are due by August 12th.
  3. KP Comprehensive Plan Committee Report – Economic draft portion is complete.
  4. KP Community Fair – Ruth reported that more craft vendors are needed. The KPBA will be requesting volunteers to help at the fair.
  5. Gig Harbor Committee Reports – none
  6.  

New Business: The Fire District #16 is planning an addition to the Wauna Station #1 to accommodate meetings and disaster relief.  It was moved by Jeff Harris and seconded by Ruth Bramhull to support the proposed additions.  The motion passed by an unanimous vote.

Individual Reports:

            Marty is very busy in July and August.  Ann’s garden club has a new president.  Lois is having a gathering July 22.  The Fire District is moving forward to put an addition on the Wauna Station.  Marv and Myrtle continue to be busy.  Pat and Derek are sharing an office in Gig Harbor.  Bek invited everyone to participate in North Bay Mortgage’s Great Pen Contest.  Marlies has 2 for 1 travel available on SAS.
