Minutes for Friday, January 19th, 2007
Place: Blondie’s. The meeting was called to order at 12:00 pm.
Present: Jud Morris presiding. Joe Rhea, Bek Ashby, Jeff Harris, Marlise Van Cise, Ruth Bramhall, Ross Bischoff, Claude Gahard, Lois MacMahan, Al Yanity, Chuck West, Barbara Heard, Lynn Marshall, Mark Plummer, Shane Plummer Rick Sorrels, Tara Froode, Marty Marcus, Genevieve Ellis, and Laurie Ellis.
Secretary’s Report: It was msc to approve the minutes for 01/05/07.
Treasurer’s Report: It was MSC to pay the following bills:
Gig Harbor Chamber of Commerce Membership Renewal $87.50
Business/Committee Reports:
Guest Speaker: Pasco Bacotick, Washington State Dept. of Transportation
Pasco Bacotick presented information relating to SR 302, past studies, recommendations, and improvements, as well as an outline for future action relating to the SR 302 corridor.
Pasco helped to set expectations and define initial timelines for a current analysis of SR 302. He addressed questions relating to potential future projects as well.

Marty Marcus: Trying to keep the reptiles warm
Laurie Ellis: Tax season. Business is great.
Genevieve Ellis: Tax season is a busy time at the accounts’ office.
Tara Froode: Ravensara’s Drive Thru is going well. It’s also time to take care of taxes for the past year.
Jeff Harris: Community Council has a website that is up and running. The site provides relevant information for people living on the Key Peninsula. The council would like feedback on the website. Please follow the links provided.
Claude Gahard: Things are quiet at the winery. The vines are dormant. Some tourists are still finding their way to Trillium Creek.
Ruth Bramhall: The Fair Association is down to two members. A temporary treasurer has come forward. The fair will run from July 12th through the 15th. Volunteers, sponsors, and vendors are needed.
Al Yanity: Enjoying retirement and Claude’s wines.
Lois MacMahan: Lois will be in the role of Mother of the groom for a February wedding. Remember to visit www.legupdates.com to stay current on the events taking place in Olympia.
Barbara Heard: Sound is offering loans on raw land. This is a great opportunity for those looking to build in the near term.
Lynn Marshall: Thank you for coming to our restaurant for lunch. Come try out Blondies’ new menu, including the Memory Kitchen. (Todd’s note… the Mac and cheese special sounds like great comfort food!)
Bek Ashby: North Bay is formulating business plans for the coming year. North Bay is looking to open four new branches, as well as loan officers to place in them. Information is forthcoming on passenger only ferries from several Kitsap Peninsula locations.
Marlise Van Cise: The travel business has been great. Everyone is wanting to escape the weather. Travel House specializes in customizing vacations to meet specific needs. Recently, many families have been taking extended family vacations, and Travel House can help to meet these needs as well. Remember to look for info relating to upcoming events taking place in Longbranch, including the Longbranch Improvement Club Memorial Day Dance and the Longbranch Church Salmon Bake at the end of July.
Ross Bischoff: The Park Board will soon be choosing another commissioner.
Jud Morris: The Children’s Home Society, through their holiday project, provided 500 children and their families with toys, clothing, etc. A couple who had been recipients in past years came forward and participated as sponsors this year.
Mark Plummer and Shane Plummer: Continuing to benefit from a growing community. Earth Crafters can provide comprehensive services, including sewer and septic installation, concrete, and excavation. Earth Crafters will be at the Home Show from January 31 through Feb 4.
Chuck West: The KP Community planning Group is in the process of wrapping up all areas. Recently completed sign code, and is looking at design standards.
Skate Park design information is being collected, including possible costs for the projects.
The Fire Department looking to purchase ambulances. One new firefighter and one new paramedic are beginning at the Fire Fighters’ Academy. The paramedic testing process for three more paramedic positions is under way.
