MSC TREASURERS REPORT: $3,782.13
OLD BUSINESS / COMMITTEES:
a. KEYFAIR Committee - Fred said plans are picking
up. Vendor booth applications are available. Exec committee is going to
recommend a youth night for Thurs of the fair week, expected to pass. A battle
of the bands may be featured. Effort is underway to have the oxen in parade for
Maritime Gig in June.
b. Community Plan - Dennis said June 26 is public
voting day for Community Council board. An interim board is meeting twice a
month to iron out details.
c. Road clean up - Nancy
said road clean up is cancelled for April 17 as the pickup was done by a county
crew.
d. Livable Community Fair - Dennis said the fair is Sat. May 8, 10am-3pm.
e. Business/Economic Development Committee - June said a general meeting for businesses on the KP will be May 18 at the Vaughn Civic Center, 7-9 pm. The hot button business
issues for this community will be discussed. Claudia, Ed, Jeff and June are the
planning committee.
f. Scholarship Committee - Claudia said two students
have been selected for their scholarships.
PRESENTATIONS / SPEAKERS / ROUND THE HORN:
a. Mary said Angel Guild has lost members and now needs new
members. b. Nancy said Park Appreciation Day is April 24. She will
get organized for RCCA on April 17 and Home Park on April 24.
c. Bek Ashby asked Ed if the KPBA website was being upgraded and Ed
said he has notified the designer and will send him information. Also she said North Bay Mortgage, her business, is sponsoring a pen
contest (farthest distance and unique location) for two trips for two to Las Vegas. She is looking forward
to doing business here. d. Marty said he and Ann will be doing
some herp shows and will be gone for the next KPBA meeting. e. Marv said he and Myrtle doing last minute onslaught of
taxes. Says people tell him they can’t retire.
f. Ed said
he is concerned about the position the KP News is taking about the Metro Park
District. Discussion.
g. Fred
said Fire District moving along. Tracy Lyon, training officer, has taken a new
job. Also LL’s opening day is Sun. April 3.
h. Ruth said Two Waters Arts Alliance school program has started. They have
grants and scholarships have been handed out.
i. Claudia said people are spending and that’s good. She
is having a bonsai class this Sat. April 3 and a moss basket class, April
24. j. Dennis said sheriff’s detachment will be a
significant presence at the Livable Comm. Fair. (outreach). Claudia said the ‘green cars’ are still going way too fast
through Key Center. Discussion. k. Eric
Nelson said the
Wauna Fire Station will hopefully open in July. New fire engines will be
delivered soon. On April 12 there will be a joint meeting with Dist. 5 at the
Home Fire Station to
sign an interlocal agreement to use apparatus maintenance shop on the GH
Peninsula. He also expressed concern about potential tax revisions coming up. Could be 25% loss of revenue.
