Old Business: 

Parks 4th of July Event – It was the 1st annual event. Tracie Oliveira had fun serving cake & ice cream with Frank Grubaugh.

New Business: 

Derek Kilmer sent a thank you note.

Peninsula School District Educational Foundation Breakfast – October 8th. We have a table paid for 11 people & need
sign ups.

Lori Deacon, Peninsula Light – Free fireproof powerstrips are available to businesses. Residential ones available for
entertainment systems.

Speaker: Georgia Lomax, Executive Director @ Pierce County Library – Spending the next year trying to get in touch with & find the best way to serve the local community.

 

Business Reports:

Phillis Henry, Angel Guild – If you make a request for a grant, you will have better chances if your request is small rather than larger. They only have so much to give each month.

Christina Halleck, KP Parks – There’s a new playground plan for Gateway Park. They got a grant and can bump up
construction.

Bernie Wiles, New Beginnings Real Estate – Low inventory and low interest means multiple offers on houses right now.

Matt Lester, All Around Gutters – There is tons of work right now and it’s going well.

Donna Lester DK Property Management – Has 2 properties available. A 3 bed/2 bath and a 2 bed/1 bath.

Rosina Vertz, Pierce Co Library – They have an adult summer reading program. Read 10 hours, get a $5 library fine
coupon.

Barb Heard, Sound Credit Union (retired) – Road clean up in June went well. Next one is 2nd Saturday of October.

Stephanie Wilson, Sound Credit Union (manager) – 2.99% balance transfers on Visa right now.

Derek Young, Pierce Co. Council – Encumbrance plan to protect farmland passed. Going on tour to represent Pierce
County for public health policy regarding bays & marine water.

Brian McClain, Peninsula Light – 90th Anniversary was last weekend.

Lori Deacon – She is still a Gig Harbor real estate broker. The Peninsula Light job is just temporary.

Penny Gasbat, Key Peninsula Community Service – The 30th Annual Logging Show has room for advertising.

Chad Beaver, KP Counseling – Trying to get a treatment center on the peninsula

Judd Morris, Civic Center – The Civic Center is having a luau on August 1st. July 18th is the Children’s Home Poker Run.

Ed Taylor, Westwynd Motel – Installing video security system, doing energy upgrades to buildings, and hired a new
manager.

Dan Gregory, Peninsula School District – Legislation was passed regarding all-day Kindergarten 5 days/week & class sizes.

Zach Smith, Ophthalmology Center – Looking into expanding into the community.

Frank Grubaugh, KP Fire Dept. – The levy lift will be on the ballots and needs your vote.

Dick Kelly, Key Peninsula Vets – Reps will be at Allen Days this weekend.

Dana Webster, KP Community Counsel – Chief Allen has a great presentation regarding the levy.

Ruth Bramhall, Longbranch Improvement Club – Annual salmon bake/blues grass festival is next Saturday.

Patrick & Sara, Bella Della BBA – Looking for a local spot to be at. This is their second season in Kitsap County.

Cheryl, Costco – Think Costco first.

Marsha Harris, KP Connects – Grant renewed by DOT for empty school buses. Will be running
Mondays/Tuesdays/Thursdays.

Tracey Oliveira, Serenity Salon – Thrilled with community support for the garden build at the Red Barn. Harvest is 07/30.
